Wonder Woman Lego Set Spoils Major Villain

Two days ago at CinemaCon, Wonder Woman film director Patty Jenkins and male lead Chris Pine were on site to share footage from the upcoming blockbuster. The Hollywood Reporter reports that during the conference Patty mentions that the love story is an important part of the film, and Pine also teased that, “It has a Casablanca feel which I don’t think we’ve seen in this universe before.” It’s clear that the focus was to bring the audience’s attention to the love story in Wonder Woman. Yet, it would seem that Lego has uncovered something even juicier.

According to an article in Entertainment Weekly, LEGO has revealed their newest set which was inspired by the Wonder Woman stand alone film. It features the Amazing Amazon and her beaux Steve Trevor fighting against Ares. This revelation is no surprise to Wonder Woman fans who know that the War God has been her nemesis since her inception in 1941. But it does give new insight to the film, who’s campaign has yet to reveal the God of War’s presence. If true, then combined with her confirmed clay origin, it will be a definite win for the Ambassador of Peace and all her fans. As it reaffirms her link to more source material and original intent, unlike DC’s New 52. Thanks for putting the pieces together, LEGO!
