Meet Parzival of Ready Player One

AKA Wade Owen Watts, depicted here by Tye Sheridan, in Spielberg’s precarious film attempt at the novel Ready Player One. Here we see Wade immersed, presumably, in the world of Oasis as his Avatar Parzival. Tantalizingly, we are shone not a bit of the virtual reality cosmos that is the Oasis, instead we see the protagonist as he appears IRL, within the cavity of one of the vertically piled mobile homes of the impoverished “Stacks”.

What we are shown is Wade’s collection articles and magazine covers depicting programmer and co-founder of the Oasis, James Halliday, who put in place the easter eggs Wade and other Egg Hunters are searching for. Through the assorted junk, trash, and antique turn of the 21st century electronics we are given only a taste of the futuristic  dystopian setting that Wade seeks to escape through the Oasis. Detail oriented, we are sure Spielberg hid more for focused fans to find.

Much like the Programmer Halliday who Spielberg fictionally inspired.

More details as they emerge!

Jarys Maragopoulos
Jarys Maragopoulos grew up in the suspiciously isolated Ojai valley. Having acted in about a dozen plays as a child, including radio comedy routines, Jarys escaped with a College acceptance letter they had forged out of a hallmark card and octopus Ink. They rode the trains and learned the way of the hobos until arriving at the idyllic city of San Francisco, home to Jarys' dreams. At the University of San Francisco, where they won a Bachelors in History from the Dean in a Kung Fu match, Jarys met their two best friends and stopped blushing when they told people their favorite movie was “Return of the Jedi”. Since that time Jarys has earned their teaching credential (without resorting to thaumaturgy), collected a small library, learned Sumerian, and fell in love.
That list is not causal, they promise.

[Jarys is Genderqueer and, consequently, uses they/their/them pronouns.]
