Hasbro has revealed a bunch of new collections of Transformers at the New York Toy Fair this year – Autobots, Decepticons, Dinobots… and combiners! There’s a whole bunch of new ways to play with these new Transformers – so many that we don’t have room for them all here, but here’s a peek at some of the new things that will be hitting shelves in a store near you.
This spring, Transformers: Robots in Disguise returns for its third season. Autobots have a new tactic to deal with the Decepticons – teamwork on an even bigger scale! Bumblebee and the rest of the Autobots must learn to work together when they combine with each other to make larger, more powerful bots. Galvatron has found a new way to get the Decepticons together, too – and they will also have to learn to work together if they have any hope of being able to survive long enough to run from the Autobots another day.
Here’s a look at the Galvatron Team Combiner:
And the UltraBee Bumblebee Combiner:
Available this fall, Trypticon is joining the fight. He’s the largest figure in this year’s Titans Returns universe. This T-Rex has three conversion modes: dino, spaceship, and city. When this figure converts to city mode, it connects to other Titans Return Leader Class figures to form the giant Nemesis Command figure. In dino mode, it “eats” Titan Master figures – his stomach opens up to get the smaller figures out. I know at least one kid who will want this for his birthday, which happens to be right around the time this Dinobot will be hitting store shelves.
Of course, there will be tie-ins to the upcoming movie Transofrmers: The Last Knight. The Optimus Prime voice-changing helmet will let you roll out your team in true Transformer style, and there are 21 pre-recorded sound effects and vocal commands in addition to a voice-changer that will put the power of Optimus Prime himself right in your own mouth. And then, there’s a look at a new Autobot, Sqweeks. With a remote control and his giant blaster, you’ll be able to get him to to dance across the floor, use his blaster for battle and even talk! Oh – and his eyes light up too! I’m kind of excited about this little guy:
And just in case you missed it earlier this month, here’s the extended trailer for Transformers: The Last Knight, expected in theaters this summer:
